Wallpaper is Making a Comeback

Sorry it has been so long since my last post! School has been crazy busy and has kept me running in circles. Today I thought I would share my thoughts on this room. The newer trend of an animal head above the bed is quickly becoming a popular go-to in the design world. It adds a great focal piece, and centered above the bed, it helps to create symmetry. The end tables and more industrial light fixtures on either side of the bed maintain the symmetry in the room. Another popular trend that we are seeing more often is the paneled wood accent wall. Having the bed come off of the accent wall really draws the viewers eye to the end of the room. I think the paneled wood is a great way to visually change up the walls from patterned wallpaper on either side. Without the wood accent wall the bed would be lost due to the movement in the wallpaper. Wallpaper is another trend that is coming back. For years now people have been tearing down the old patterned paper that seemed to clash with everything else in the room, but now it has become popular again. Selecting the right wallpaper can be difficult, but going with a pattern with neutral colors can work very well in many rooms. Making sure that the furniture is more toned down and doesn't have too many differing patterns will ensure that the wallpaper choice remains the focus of the room. Overall, I think this room is a unique take on mixing patterns while remaining within a neutral color palette.
