Senior Capstone Project

Alright y'all, I wanted to share my senior capstone project because I am so proud of it, and it will help to explain why I was so busy. I am only sharing a few parts of the project with you but honestly, seeing the power plan and dimensioned plan is not THAT exciting, haha. So, to cut to the chase, my project was a two story fine dining restaurant located on the banks of the Chattahoochee river in downtown Columbus, Georgia (my new home)! My whole concept for the project was to create a dining experience that was about more than the food. It was about the atmosphere, and stimulating all of your senses. The restaurant was to include a back second level deck to overlook the river, a two level fish tank that you could witness on the ride up to the main dining room in the glass elevator, and an in floor tank that circled around the dining room floor. This restaurant was meant to put the dining guest in the environment that their food was coming from. I selected materials and finishes that mirrored that of the river, or the creatures in it. It was designed to be an elevated experience, and a restaurant that would claim the entertainment of many. The tanks themselves created a aquarium experience that was worth exploring. The restaurant was strategically placed on a riverside lot that also backed the Columbus, Riverwalk. This was to ensure that there would be plenty of foot traffic going by the restaurant every day. The renderings that you will see later in the post include the entrance/host stand, the bar with a view of the in floor tank, and the main dining room with a view of the in floor tank and two story tank. Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy looking at this as much as I enjoyed working on it! It was a blast of a project but I am certainly glad to be finished with my Bachelor's Degree.
